Greetings to All of You!

It’s hard to believe that it is already August! Where has the summer gone?! We hope and pray that you have had time this summer to rest and spend time with your loved ones. The past few months have definitely flown by as we traveled to Idaho and completed three weeks of intensive training.

Training at the MAF US Campus

We had the wonderful opportunity to spend time at the MAF US home office in Nampa, Idaho. This included various types of training such as cross-cultural ministry, mission strategy, safety and security overseas, etc. Melicca even had a “Cooking From Scratch” class where she learned how to make chicken pot pie – yum! A definite highlight was that we were able to meet many fantastic people during our time there. We look forward to seeing some of them again in Papua! After completing the training we both had to attend, Melissa returned back to Saskatoon while Jonathan still remains in Idaho to complete his flight standardization training.

MAF: A Vital LINK to Reaching Isolated People with God’s WORD

Growing up in North America, it is easy for us to take for granted the convenient access we have to God’s Word. We have printed copies of the Bible, Bible apps, and audio Bibles at our fingertips. But imagine that the Bible has not yet been translated into a language that you understand.

There is where the partnership between Bible translators and mission aviation pilots becomes vital. Many translators rely on MAF to bring them to the villages where they work on the translation, and usually, when the translation is complete, MAF is hot those Bible get INTO the hands of the people.

Recently, pilots Peter Santana and Tim Bolser (who serve with their families in Papua, Indonesia) flew the Ngalik New Testament Bible into the village of Silimo. On arrival, the local villagers quickly helped unload the Bibles and a local church leader led everyone in a prayer of thanksgiving. It has been several years since the last printing, and these copies were enthusiastically received by the Ngalik people. The Bibles we all sold within a week. This is one of the essential ways that MAF helps support new believers and helps to bring God’s Word to those who may otherwise never know of His love for them.

We Have an Additional Passenger on Board!

Back in April, we were told by doctors that melissa had unfortunately miscarried. It was confirmed by an ultrasound and we grieved the loss of our little one. Miraculously, four weeks later at a follow-up ultrasound, we received the surprising and shocking news that our baby was in fact, still alive! We have been in complete awe of this miracle baby and are incredibly grateful. We are so thrilled to share with you that our family is growing! Baby Neudorf is expected in December 2021 and we are eagerly anticipating his or her arrival. As such, we will be staying in Canada until the birth, and hope to leave for language school in spring 2022, after we receive Baby Neudorf’s passport and visa.

Ministry Partnership Update

We are so excited to share with you that we have reached full ministry support through your incredible generosity and continuous partnership with us! God is so good and we are filled with gratitude.

We are so thankful for each and every one of our supporters; your partnership in this ministry is such a blessing to us. We are so encouraged by the churches and individuals that have decided to partner with us and are standing with us in prayer.

We will be staying in Canada a little longer than anticipated as we await the arrival of our newest addition. We would love to reconnect and spend time with you before our big move in the spring.

Praise and Prayer

  • Praise for reaching full ministry support through the generosity of our supporters and God’s provision.
  • Praise for Jonathan successfully passing his FAA commercial and instrument conversion tests!
  • Praise for completing candidacy, safety and security training, and Melissa’s safe return to Saskatoon.
  • Prayer for Jonathan’s continued standardization training and his safe return to Saskatoon.

We are so thankful for all of you and are continually reminded of the huge blessing you are in our lives. We are deeply humbled knowing that we have such an amazing team of people supporting us in this.
