Pause and reflect
This morning as I was doing my devotions, I was brought back to a moment before we went to Turkey and were challenged with a moment in Moses’ life where he declares to God that he won’t go unless God’s presence goes along with them (Exodus 33:15) I often feel the busyness of life taking over and being led by this need to accomplish and be productive. This is just a good reminder for me to walk with enough pausing that I continue to evaluate where and how fast I am going.
This all came as I was reading Micah 6:8 this morning, “O man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
As I write this, Ruth and Ivory are walking in the backyard for one of their new growth tours. One of their favourite daily routines is to walk around admiring the new buds and flowers that are coming out. It is regular that Ivory will come in with a high pitched excitement of a new leaf on the rhubarb or flowers starting to bloom on the apple tree. The slowly walk and just enjoy what God has created.
This is a renewed call for myself but I hope it will inspire you too to seek after the moments that God reveals himself. May we walk like children waiting for God to bring about new life around us and then proclaim to the world with overwhelmed joy of His goodness. Lord help me to wait long enough to see you at work and only then move forward surrounded by your presence. May busyness not become a distraction to times walking with you.
Focus Internship
I just want to highlight a program that we have been working to develop for the fall. It is called the Focus Internship. It is meant for people exploring long-term ministry. The first couple months will include training here in Manitoba where they will be engaged in an intentionally outreach ministry while being equipped to serve. The participants then head out to their 7 month assignments alongside experienced missionaries.
Please join us in praying for the people who have already committed to Focus Internship and that God would continue to nudge those he is calling to apply.
Here is more information about the Focus Internship.
SOAR Alberta
We are needing your prayers as it is hard to launch a new program among people that haven’t experienced SOAR. Pray as we discern the best ways to bring a new missional experience to the churches of Alberta.
