He Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed!
We have so much to be thankful for! God has been so faithful.
We were blessed with an 8 passenger van!
We were also blessed on Good Friday with a flat tire as we took the van to the Good Friday Service! The reason this was a blessing is that, having just gotten blessed with the van and just having gotten paid, we were able to use the money that we were saving for a vehicle to get 4 brand new tires, new battery, take care of some debt and put some toward ministry expenses!
Praise the Lord!
Congratulations are in order to Peter and Christine Papequash, who were married on Saturday, March 30th! So it was a very busy Holy Week for us as Vivian helped them in some of their preparations including making the bride’s dress, the groom and best man’s shirts, as well as necklace and earrings for the bride as well! Everything came together beautifully, making for a wonderful ceremony and reception.
On Saturday the 13 of April, we are having another Indigenous Discussion gathering in the afternoon, and are praying for a good turnout, as well as an engaging discussion. Again the emphasis will be on the personal experience of living out one’s spiritual identity in Christ in the context of one’s Indigenous cultural heritage.
The type of questions that arise from such discussions for participants are: is it okay to attend or participate in a PowWow? Is it okay to own an eagle feather, or burn sweetgrass? Is it okay to go to sweat or participate in a pipe ceremony? Can an Indigenous drum be used in Christian worship? Should traditional wakes, or feasts be avoided? Am I forsaking my indigenous community, identity or heritage by being Christian?
This Sunday and next, I look forward to visiting Celebration Church.
We are always looking for opportunities to share the good things God has done in our lives and would welcome the opportunity to share with your small group, or even visit your church.
Blessings and please, keep Praying for Big Things!
