“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” (Isaiah 60)
Greetings from Osaka, Japan!
It has been a nice hot summer here in Japan!
Thanks God – we have had a lot of chances to enjoy being outdoors; visits to the park with our 3-year-old foster son, travelling with my older sister’s family to Hiroshima, and doing evangelism here and there,
We got to witness a weekly prayer-walk being transformed into a weekly outreach!
We have been prayer-walking at the nearby Osaka University campus for a number of years now and in the past God answered these prayers by sending students to our house for the weekly supper club at our house. Since the pandemic we have not been receiving students in this way but we have continued prayer-walking on campus.
In June my older German friend Micheal and I were sensing that God was wanting to add evangelism to the prayer-walking. I was blown away to hear that the first person that Michael approached (a young woman named “Hannah”) was very interested in connecting! I would not normally approach young women while doing outreach, and to have the very first person express such interest seemed to be a miracle! As it turns out Hannah has come almost every week since that day and has invited four of her friends from her Indonesian language class. Wow – God has given us a “person of peace”! They are interested in hearing about Jesus, in receiving prayer, and they hope to come and serve the poor downtown together in September.
Is Jesus calling you to do prayer-walking in your community?
When Jesus is leading, you never know where you will end up!
But we know that he is “able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us” (Eph 3:20)
We are like lightbulbs walking around in thick darkness. As it says in Isaiah 60:2 “See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.”
We are happy to announce the completion of the Japanese translation of the Soul Care book! Two years ago we met with our Regional Team Leader Bob Davis and decided to create a special project to raise funds for the publishing of this book. While we have never had any kind of project before, we received an email on the very same day from Parliament Community Church in Regina informing us that they were making a donation for a “special project associated with our ministry”. Wow – what a confirmation!
Now after two years the translation, editing, proof-reading, layout, cover design, publishing agreement, and printing are complete. We look forward to witnessing how Jesus will use this book to bring salvation, healing and deliverance to many people!
Both Masami and I have experienced the Jesus’s deliverance in our lives (and through this book) and we are very excited to share this with others.
We would recommend reading the Soul Care book or attending a Soul Care conference. (please see the link below for info)
Thank you for praying,
Cory and Masami
We have a Japanese Translation of Soul Care by Dr Rob Reimer!
Thank you for those who have been praying and giving for this project. We have recieved the first copies of Japanese version this month! Now it is available through a book store as well as online store. For more about Soul Care, please click Here
