Parliament Community Church is planning two short term missions trips:

Tegucigalpa, Honduras Trip April 5th-14th:

The team will be working with the Schools of Hope Ministry which serves a community of 25,000 people who were displaced in 2006 by Hurricane Mitch and now live on the outskirts of the capital. The community has grown on the side of a mountain and lacks basic services like running water and sewer systems.  Schools of Hope has a multi-faceted ministry that delivers Bible classes to 6,000 students in the public schools every month, sponsors 300+ students to allow them to go to school, and runs feeding programs in several schools.  A fairly new initiative is to assist families by installing water filtration systems in homes to allow them to utilize rain water and have a safe and plentiful supply of safe drinking water at a very low cost.  Income levels are extremely low and saving for a water filter would take a family years.  Our team will install 20 filters while there, meet local families and encourage the Schools of Hope team in their work. We will visit the schools, observe the lessons, meet the children, and see the programs in action.

Please Pray For:

Safety and good health for the team

That we will be a blessing to the families who receive the filters and to the Christians that live and work in this area of Honduras

Bogota, Colombia Trip May 4th-12th:

The team is responding to a request from a large local high school to supplement its English classes with an intensive one-week program. Working with a Canadian missionary, a Colombian pastor, and the school principal, we will be using biblical content to enhance students’ language proficiency and spiritual understanding. We are slated to develop the curriculum and materials, teach 6 hours a day, conduct teacher training, and lead an English workshop at the local church.

Please Pray For:

Safety and good health for the team while travelling to and within the country

Energy and boldness to teach and share the love of Christ with students

That we will be a blessing to the school, Pastor Carlos and his church
