Seekers of Truth
Pandemics, masks, vaccines, droughts, grasshoppers, earthquakes, political shifts in Israel, hacking, US pull out of Afghanistan, and so much more. Our new script reads like a page out of one of the prophets or Revelations. One of the good things that is happening is that everyone is looking at the recent events and are looking for answers.
My long time neighbor was out doing yard work as Cindy and I were going for a walk. We stopped to say hi and to see how he was doing. From the moment we stopped he was anxious to talk about all the things he was reading and trying to learn about the recent worlds events. He wanted to get my perspective but every time I was about to speak he jumped in again with more things that he has been learning. Finally, he declared, “Walter, I’m just a seeker after truth”
He let out a deep sigh as I told him of my Christian perspective. I told him, “The Bible says ‘you will know the truth and the truth will set you free’ and that Jesus said that He ‘is the way, the truth and the life and no one can come to the Father but by him.’ Seeking after truth is a wonderful thing but knowing where to look is also very important.” I encouraged him to read the Bible and I gave him some Scripture to look up that described these events. Matthew 24 specifically addresses so many of the events that are happening today. I also shared a simple Gospel message in hopes that he would reach out to Jesus. My neighbor continues to send me many of the things he is reading and I continue to share with him.
It is easy to get caught up with anxiety of the times we are in but God is still in charge! He isn’t surprised by the events that are happening in our world. As the world falls apart, God’s plan is coming together. He told us in 1 Thessalonians that He is coming again and to “comfort one another with these words.”

Walter is now recovering the seats in his VW Beetle. His health has been good and he will have a check up with his urologist later this month.
