Giesbrecht June 2024 Missions Update

*The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. * (Psalm 19:1-2)
Thank you for partnering with God’s work in Japan.  After the great spring with many visitors from overseas, we are anxious to see where God is leading us this summer. Below are some quick updates from us this month (June!).

Thank you for your prayers,
Cory & Masami

Bushi (Men’s Camp) June 7th-8th – We praise God that one of the men decided to get baptised. The new people want to make this camp happen every month. May they burst forth like a radiant bridegroom and rejoice like a great athlete eager to run the race (Psalm 19:6)

Thank you for your prayers. The believers from near and far gather together at Osaka Castle Park every Friday for outreach. May the people of Osaka proclaim the glory of God with his creation.

We rejoiced with heavens at the baptism of M. Please pray for her and her son (Grade 6) as they start their new walk with Jesus.

We thank God for Doris’ faithful service in Japan over thirty years. Please pray for her as she leaves Japan and adjusts to life in Canada next month.

We praise God that Sola (our son) was able to go to Ishikawa with Cory for earthquake relief work.  July 1st marks 6 months anniversary of Ishikawa Earthquake. May the people of Ishikawa know that the God is our rock and our redeemer.

Prayer items

  • July 5-6 Bushi (Men’s) Camp
  • July 6 Foster Mums 1st meeting: Pray that we can be an encouragement to each other as we walk as foster mums.
  • July 9-14 Family Holidays
  • July 16-20: Japan MB Team will work with Noto Help in the earthquake-affected area: pray that this who go will be touched by Jesus.

Pray for Noto (Ishikawa):

  • Noto’s sky and mountains and ocean declare the glory of God. Pray that the people of Noto will also see the glory of God.
  • For government leaders that they will receive the wisdom of God so that they can serve their people well.
  • May the churches of Japan be one as they work together in Noto in the relief work. May this open the opportunities for different church groups to come together to worship one Lord in one Spirit.
