CMA Ministry Update – A glimpse at 2024 Ministry Highlights
We’ve just wrapped up the bike for Winter, after traveling over 32,000 km this year. It’s been a busy year with leadership meetings in January and February. Then we led two Seasons of Refreshing (spiritual emphasis weekends) in March and April. The theme this year was “Overflowing, Confident Hope”. Ron challenged our members to share the hope we have in Christ to those we ride with. So many people are experiencing pain and hopelessness, and we have the answer!
With the cool, wet spring we were finally able to get the bike out for our first Biker Blessing in Yorkton, SK. This was a radical step of faith as we had no church to stand behind us in our efforts. God had been nudging Ron to hold a biker blessing in Yorkton, so we started by asking to use the Walmart parking lot. We advertised via Facebook and were pleasantly surprised when 53 people came out for a blessing on June 9th. We prayed over the bikers and handed out blessing stickers, rag tracks and angel pins. We also served 12 dozen cookies and 2 boxes of Tim’s Coffee! We plan to return and can’t imagine what God will have in store for us this time!
Ron led a biker blessing and preached on June 23 at the Christopher Lake Bible Church. This is the third biker blessing for this new church. For this outreach event, members of the community are invited to come to church, share a BBQ lunch and receive a prayer of blessing.
June is also the St. Victor’s Rally in Assiniboia, SK. This weekend is like a “mini-Sturgis”, with over 600 bikers from all over the western Canada attending. We set up our CMA tent and walked around the campground visiting people. We were able to pray a blessing over a few bikers. We are still looking for a way to break into this rally… possibly a Sunday service?
In July, Ron preached at the Open Door Church in Morris, MB at their biker Sunday. A handful of bikers attended this new event.
Our international CMA rally was held in Minnesota from August 15-18. Along with 400 members, we were spiritually challenged, enjoyed fellowship with members and participated in service projects in a nearby community. Projects included painting, cleaning and visiting a senior care home. Ron and I played Bingo with the seniors!
The best blessing and event of the summer was Ron leading a local biker to Christ! Our local chapter is called “The Ninety & Nine”; we are always searching for the one that God is preparing. I love it when we find that one!
Unfortunately, Ron and I missed the fall PCC Missions weekend due to travel for our annual CMA Leadership conference and USA National Rally in Mena, Arkansas. The leadership conference was very impactful with the timely theme of, “Are we ready for Christ’s return?”. We appreciated the sessions that encouraged us to spread the message, with our ride associates, that time is short and it’s time to get right with God! There were 400 leaders at the conference and 2025 bikers at the rally. Many salvations and recommitments were made at the rally. Praise God!
We especially want to thank our PCC family for your donations and support of our annual Run for the SON (RFTS) fundraiser. CMA supports three like-minded partners: Missionary Ventures International, The Jesus Film Project and Open Doors. Your donations last year helped raise $208,846!!! Below is a report from one of our ministry partners, Missionary Ventures International:
For 2022/2023, $59,781.00 was received. This resulted in 33 motorcycles being purchased and provided to indigenous pastors in the following countries to increase their outreach for Jesus and plant more churches.
The following motorcycles were delivered: Cameroon (1); Cambodia (2); Ghana (4); Haiti (1); Honduras (2); India (1); Indonesia (4); Kenya (2); Niger (1); Pakistani (5); Philippines (3); Sierra Leone (2); Thailand (2); Zambia (1).
Thank you to all who raised money and supported Run for the Son.
Ron and I are willing to come and speak at a small group or other group if you are interested in us sharing more about our experiences. We thank you for supporting us in prayer in our ministry as we minister and reach bikers for Christ – one heart at a time. God Bless.
