Youth Ministry Intern, Parliament Community Church

Who Are You?

You are someone who is interested in exploring the fit of long term church ministry. You have a passion to lead and journey with youth in living, loving and serving like Jesus, as you share your life and story with them appropriately. You also have a desire to see youth thrive as a part of the larger community of faith in the church. You're keen to learn a different aspect of living for God’s mission and to invite youth into a deeper life with God. More than looking for a job, you are interested doing ministry and finding a role God's Kingdom.

You are:

  • involved in local church life
  • excited to learn and grow in youth ministry
  • self-motivated
  • willing to learn (or skilled at) effective organization and execution of youth events
  • willing to empower a team of volunteers for ministry

What Will You Do?

Position: 15 hrs/wk
Time Frame: February 2020 - August 2020

You will work with our Youth Ministry over next season (until Aug 31, 2019), to pursue the vision of Parliament Community Church, and also ParliamentYouth - to see youth in Regina know the love of Jesus, and journey with us to live, love, and serve like Him.This involves learning and executing (in tandem with the Associate Pastor) the core pieces of ParliamentYouth including: Friday evening programming for grades 6-12, working with a volunteer team, discipling students, and working with Sunday School teachers. It also involves participation in Sunday Morning Worship Celebrations, and some involvement with other church ministries and events (as time and interest allows).

Regular Responsibilities

(somewhat variable based on gifting, and interest)

  • Leadership in weekly youth nights
  • Involvement in Sunday Worship Celebration
  • Weekly Youth Event Preparation (event preparation, communication, planning)
  • Meeting with Associate (and lead) Pastor
  • Discipleship of students
  • Leadership in Youth Sunday School
