Children’s Summer Ministry Coordinator
As a part of the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs program, Parliament Community Church is looking to hire 1 individual to fill the roll of Summer Ministries Coordinator working primarily with children ages 3-grade 6.
Term of the contract: Beginning May 1, 2025 till August 28, 2025. This role is based on the approval the Canada Summer Grant. Dates may change based on grant acceptance.
Hours: 30-40 hours weekly. Must be available to work Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings
Rate of Pay: $17 per hour.
Reports primarily to: Kristen Cowman, Children’s Director.
Candidate Profile: A young adult between the ages of 18 and 30, who has a desire to receive work experience in the realm of Children’s Ministry which is transferable to many jobs. This student must have a solid Christian faith and testimony, and agree with and adhere to the Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith, operating within the parameters of our protection policy for the Protection of Children and Youth. Additionally, the student must fit the requirements of funding for a Canada Summer Jobs Grant. They would be self-motivated, have access to their own transportation.
Job Description: The Summer Ministry Coordinator would be responsible for the following:
1. Assist with Sunday School, Children’s church, and Grade 4/5 programming until June.
2. Planning and preparing children’s programming during the summer.
3. Planning child and family hang times through-out the summer. This will include a Tuesday night sports night and Bridge hang times.
4. Plan and execute a Preschool VBS (June), Art Camp (July) and other event opportunities.
5. Find and lead team members as required for various programs.
6. As time permits working alongside the Children’s Director for future planning of Children’s ministries.
7. If time allows, any ministry opportunities that present themselves to serve within other PCC ministries based on gifting’s and skill set as determined by the Children’s Director and/or the Lead Pastor.

Community Church is looking to hire an individual to fill the role of Youth Ministry Coordinator, working with grades 7-12.
Term of the contract: Beginning May 1, 2025, until August 29, 2025
Hours: 30-40 hours weekly. Must be available to work Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.
Rate of Pay: $17.00 per hour.
Reports primarily to: Chris Reimer, Youth Director.
Candidate Profile: A young adult between the ages of 18 and 30, who desires to receive a breadth of work experience ranging from administrative tasks to organization and leadership experience.
This student must have a solid Christian faith and testimony, agree with and adhere to the Mennonite Brethren Statement of Faith and operate within the parameters of our protection policy for the Protection of Children and Youth. Additionally, the student must fit the funding requirements for a Canada Summer Jobs Grant. They would be self-motivated and ideally have access to their own transportation.
Job Description: The Summer Ministry Coordinator would be responsible for the following:
1. Support our youth ministry, including helping plan and organize events, connecting with youth individually and in group settings, and providing leadership and supervision during events. Work alongside the Youth Director in May and June to get acquainted with the ministry, students, and leaders.
2. Plan and lead weekly events in July and August and work alongside the Youth Director to maintain connections during these months.
3. If time allows, any ministry opportunities that present themselves to serve within other PCC ministries based on giftings and skill sets as determined by the Lead Pastor and/or other PCC staff.
